Recent makes. Tilly and Buttons patterns

So it’s been absolute forever since actually made anything but want to start making I cannot stop. Funny that! Maybe is because I don’t have a designated sewing space and is always a hassle to get sewing machine out all the bits and bobs but once I have it all out I literally can’t stop.

I made this yellow Indigot awhile ago I just didn’t wear it really all the pictures of us for some reason it wasn’t quite working but I think I’m over it and it works really well. what do you think?
Fabric was a vintage fine from vinted slightly see-through cotton I think that’s why didn’t wear it until now co you can see my bra. What is long as it’s clean bra who cares! And as per usual I did not have enough fabric, one of sleeve flounces is made from two pieces and there is in much scraps left which is a good thing.

Indigo pattern is really easy to follow like Tilly patterns the instructions are very clear. I have also make pockets form bright yellow fabric I had in my stash. I don’t think my machine likes gathering. Or maybe I need more practice. Or I guess it could be both!

Then I wanted a quick and speedy make… but I wanted a dress. Flicking through Tilly’s Make it simple book my eye was caught by Suki dress. I had some lovely African wax cotton in my stash already pre washed.

Originally I thought to make a version with a sash belt… but I can just always wear it with belt

I wore it yesterday. Had some lovely compliments! So hooray. To a super speedy make. It’s not perfect. Did a little booboo on the neckline but I am still pleased with result. And will definitely will be making more of these. So easy hair 4 pattern pieces.

Check out cute label form lovely Joy, who still has some stock in other shops but doesn’t have her own shop anymore. Sad face here. Small cat was definitely “helping” with making of Suki dress. I do have one regret though .. I didn’t do pockets.

The indigo dress also has label but it’s wonky! And my big boy helped hem it. He enjoyed pulling the pins out.

I did make something else but that will have to wait for the next post!

P.S. What I forgot to mention is that both patterns are slightly altered to how they are. I made flounces on the sleeves of Indigo dress a little shorter as I didn’t have enough fabric. And took a couple of inches off the Suki dress because I am fat 5 foot tall.
